Fun facts about Afghanistan: A Country of Extremes

As I wait here in line in a furniture store, waiting to pick up our baby's bed, I thought I would give you a fun fact about Afghanistan:

Afghanistan is a land of extremes, not just in religious or political thought or observance, but even in its topography and climate. The temperature range in Afghanistan can exceed 100ºC (180ºF) from a record high of 49.9 °C (121.8 °F) to a low of −52.2 °C (−62.0 °F). It boasts the world's sixth-highest elevation span, with 7,492 meters between its highest point (Noshakh)1 and lowest point (Amu Darya)2.

Pray for the beautiful and wounded country of Afghanistan! There are extremes, but if we look at it with eyes of Jesus, there is extreme beauty in Afghanistan as well.
