Lumens of Truth: A September Update

Dear Friends and Partners,

As most of you know, we have been on the road, continuing to serve the Lord among the unreached peoples of Afghanistan in four countries since June. We are excited to share a few updates and stories from our recent ministry trips to Europe and Asia.

A Journey Through Corinth: Course Completion

In September, we started filming “A Journey Through Corinth,” a course on 1 Corinthians set in the historic city of Corinth. This series brings the truths of God’s Word to life in a deeply relevant way for Afghans, with 35 lessons ranging from 10 to 15 minutes each.

We are thrilled to announce that filming for the course is complete, and we’ve now moved into the post-production phase, where all the videos will be edited.

We believe this resource will be a transformative tool for helping Afghans understand the meaning of the work of Christ and the church of Christ in all its broken beauty.

Afghanistan: The Least Reached Country

Samir had the privilege of attending the Lausanne Conference in South Korea, where over 5,300 global leaders from 202 nations gathered to focus on global mission and evangelism.

While the conference was inspiring, we were heartbroken to see Afghanistan named the least reached country in the world by Lausanne’s State of the Great Commission report. This sad and sobering reality only strengthens our resolve to continue our work, knowing that we are called to this difficult but crucial mission.

Serving Afghan Refugees: A Heart for the Displaced

One of our team members recently had the opportunity to serve Afghan refugees in refugee camps. In these camps, he listened to their stories of hardship and loss, offering the love and hope of God in meaningful ways.

He also led times of worship during weekly gatherings, creating a space for refugees to experience peace and comfort in the midst of their difficult circumstances.

Conferences Dedicated to Afghanistan

In line with this mission, several Lumens team members participated in two recent conferences focused entirely on Afghanistan. These gatherings offered invaluable opportunities to pray, strategize, and collaborate with others who share our passion for reaching the unreached peoples of Afghanistan. As we explored new ways to work together, we were reminded of the incredible power of unity in advancing the Gospel.

Upcoming Conference: Raising Awareness

Next, some of our team will be heading to a conference in the United States, with a focus on raising awareness about the missional needs in Afghanistan.

We look forward to sharing the story of Afghanistan’s spiritual landscape, and encouraging more people to engage with the cause. We believe this is a vital step in bringing much-needed resources and prayer to this field.
