The Church of God in Corinth and in Afghanistan

I am excited to update you on a special project called "A Journey Through Corinth" —filming a course on the book of 1 Corinthians in the very city where Paul wrote his powerful letter.

Corinth's Connection to the Afghan Church

Paul’s message to the newborn church of Corinth, especially about the centrality of the crucified Christ to the Gospel and the church, is quite timely for the Afghan church today.

Like the early Corinthian believers, the Afghan church is facing challenges such as maintaining unity and understanding how to move forward from their former religious beliefs and practices as they grow in their newfound faith in Jesus. The message of the Gospel—that God has revealed His wisdom and power through the crucified Christ—is more relevant than ever for them today.

Corinth’s rich history and biblical significance make it the perfect backdrop for this study. It has been an incredible, though intensely busy, experience as we capture the essence of Paul’s message in this historic location.

Our long days, with early morning and evening shoots, is a demonstration of our love for the Gospel and our longing to bringing these vital gospel truths to life for the Afghan church.

It is humbling to know that what we are working on could help ground the Afghan church and Afghan believers to deepen their faith and embrace the crucified Christ as their source of wisdom and strength.

We still have 11 days of filming ahead, and we ask for your continued prayers—for strength, wisdom, and guidance from the Lord. Our mission is to help the unreached peoples of Afghanistan know Jesus, grow in Jesus, and serve Jesus.

We believe that through this project, the Afghan church and many Afghan lives will be touched and transformed by the powerful truths of Scripture.

I humbly ask for your prayers. Please pray for wisdom as we film, for clarity in delivering the message, and for God’s power to work through every aspect of this production. Our hope is that this course will help the Afghan church encounter the love of Christ in new and profound ways.
